  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add the flour to the egg yolk mixture, and mix until well combined.
  • Gently fold in the egg whites to the egg yolk mixture until well combined.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush with vegetable oil.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of the cake batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out into a thin layer using a rubber spatula.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the cake is lightly golden brown.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and immediately place a sheet of parchment paper on top of the cake. Roll the cake and parchment paper together tightly and set aside to cool.
  • Repeat steps 7-9 with the remaining cake batter, until you have four thin layers of cake.
  • Once the cake layers have cooled, unroll each layer, and spread a thin layer of softened guava paste onto each layer.
  • Roll up the cake layers one by one to form a log, and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
