1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1 tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Cold And Cubed
2/3 cup Milk
1 Egg
2 cup Strawberries Sliced
1 cup Heavy Cream
2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the cubed butter to the bowl and use a pastry cutter or two knives to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
Add the mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
Drop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making 4 even portions.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the shortcakes are lightly golden brown.
In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
To assemble the shortcakes, split each one in half and top with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
Place the top half of the shortcake on top and add another dollop of whipped cream and a few more strawberries.
