Instructions
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add heavy cream and whisk to combine.

Add grated Parmesan cheese and continue to whisk until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Add salt and pepper to taste, and a pinch of nutmeg if desired.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
