Welcome to my kitchen, where we're about to embark on a journey to the heart of French cuisine with an authentic homemade Gougère recipe. Gougères are delightful savory cheese puffs that hail from the Burgundy region of France. These airy, light pastries boast a perfect balance of cheesy goodness and a hint of black pepper, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion. Whether you're hosting a brunch, a cocktail party, or simply craving a delectable snack, Gougères are sure to captivate your taste buds and transport you to the picturesque French countryside.

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a saucepan, bring water, cubed butter, salt, and black pepper to a boil over medium heat.
Add all-purpose flour to the saucepan and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together and forms a ball.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the dough cool for a couple of minutes.
Add eggs to the dough, one at a time, stirring well after each addition until fully incorporated.
Mix in the grated Gruyère cheese until well combined.
If you have a pastry bag, transfer the dough into it. Otherwise, you can use a spoon to drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each Gougère.
Bake the Gougères in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown and puffed.
Remove the Gougères from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
