Ingredients
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Vegetable Oil For Frying
- Powdered Sugar For Topping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, pour the batter into a funnel or squeeze bottle.
- Hold the funnel or squeeze bottle over the hot oil and drizzle the batter in a circular motion, creating a spiral pattern.
- Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Use tongs to carefully remove the funnel cake from the hot oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain the excess oil.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the funnel cake and serve immediately.
