Empanadas are a popular snack or meal in many Latin American countries, and they can be filled with a variety of ingredients, such as meat, vegetables, cheese, and more. This recipe serves four people and has an estimated preparation time of 30 minutes and a cooking time of 30 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the water, oil, and egg, and mix until a smooth dough forms. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it is elastic, then cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic, and cook until the vegetables are soft.
Add the paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the skillet, and mix well. Remove from heat and let cool.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a cup.
Place a spoonful of the beef filling on one half of each dough circle. Add a few chopped olives and a piece of boiled egg on top.
Fold the other half of the dough circle over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
Place the empanadas on a greased baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
