- 1 cup Grits Stone-Ground
- 4 cup Water
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 cup Cheese Cheddar, Shredded
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 lb Shrimp Large & Peeled & Deveined
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 Garlic Cloves Minced
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1/4 cup Green Onions Chopped
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the grits and salt and stir well.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grits are tender and creamy.
- Add the heavy cream, cheddar cheese, and black pepper to the pot and whisk until smooth.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with paprika and cayenne pepper.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until pink and cooked through.
- Divide the grits among four bowls and top with the cooked shrimp.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
