Equipment
Ingredients
- 4 Egg Whites At Room Temperature
- 1 cup Caster Sugar (Superfine Sugar)
- 1 tsp Cornstarch (Cornflour)
- 1 tsp White Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
For The Topping:
- 1 cup Heavy Cream Chilled
- 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar (Icing Sugar)
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Kiwi
- Passion Fruit
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites using an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the caster sugar, a spoonful at a time, while continuing to beat the egg whites. Beat until stiff peaks form, and the mixture is glossy.
- Gently fold in the cornstarch, white vinegar, and vanilla extract using a spatula until well combined.
- Spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a circle with slightly raised edges to form a nest-like structure.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and reduce the temperature to 225°F (110°C). Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes or until the pavlova is crisp on the outside and dry to the touch.
- Turn off the oven, leave the pavlova inside, and let it cool completely for about 1 hour.
- While the pavlova is cooling, whip the chilled heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
- Once the pavlova is cool, carefully transfer it to a serving plate. Top it with the whipped cream and a generous assortment of fresh fruits.
- Serve immediately and enjoy this delightful homemade pavlova with your loved ones!
