- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 1/4 Cup Butter Melted
- Vegetable Oil For Frying
- Powdered Sugar For Dusting
- Jam Optional
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk together until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until light and frothy.
- Add the milk and melted butter and mix well.
- Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. The dough should be soft and sticky.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to drop balls of dough into the hot oil, frying in batches of 4-5 at a time.
- Fry until golden brown on all sides, turning occasionally with a slotted spoon or spider strainer.
- Remove the fried fank with a slotted spoon or spider strainer and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Dust the warm fank with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
- Enjoy it with jam of your choice if you fancy!
