- 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Cubed
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Eggs Large
- 3/4 cup Gruyère Cheese Grated (Or Any Other Firm Cheese Of Your Choice)

- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, bring water, cubed butter, salt, and black pepper to a boil over medium heat.
- Add all-purpose flour to the saucepan and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together and forms a ball.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the dough cool for a couple of minutes.
- Add eggs to the dough, one at a time, stirring well after each addition until fully incorporated.
- Mix in the grated Gruyère cheese until well combined.
- If you have a pastry bag, transfer the dough into it. Otherwise, you can use a spoon to drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each Gougère.
- Bake the Gougères in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown and puffed.
- Remove the Gougères from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
