Ingredients
For The Crumb Topping:
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
For The Cake:
- 1 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Eggs Large
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the crumb topping ingredients until the mixture is crumbly.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until the mixture is well combined.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer or a pastry cutter until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Add the sour cream and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour the batter into an 8x8-inch baking pan.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the top of the batter.
- Use a fork or small whisk to lightly press the crumb topping into the batter.
- Bake the crumb cake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the crumb cake cool for a few minutes before serving.
