Ingredients
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 cup Milk Whole
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 4 Egg Yolks Large
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
For The Topping:
- 4 tsp Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the mixture is well combined.
- In a saucepan, heat the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Slowly pour the cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and place the dish in a larger baking dish.
- Pour enough hot water into the larger baking dish to come halfway up the sides of the smaller dish.
- Bake the crème brûlée in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until set.
- Remove the dish from the oven and let the crème brûlée cool to room temperature.
- Chill the crème brûlée in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Sprinkle the top of each serving dish with 1 tsp of granulated sugar.
- Caramelize the sugar using a kitchen torch until it is golden brown and caramelized.
