  • Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the mixture is well combined.
  • In a saucepan, heat the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Slowly pour the cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish and place the dish in a larger baking dish.
  • Pour enough hot water into the larger baking dish to come halfway up the sides of the smaller dish.
  • Bake the crème brûlée in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until set.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and let the crème brûlée cool to room temperature.
  • Chill the crème brûlée in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • Sprinkle the top of each serving dish with 1 tsp of granulated sugar.
  • Caramelize the sugar using a kitchen torch until it is golden brown and caramelized.
