  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk, salt, black pepper, and ground mustard. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
