- 1 can Whole Peeled Tomatoes (14.5 Oz)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Garlic Cloves Minced
- 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
- Salt & Pepper To Taste
- Fresh Basil Leaves Chopped; (Optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
- Crush whole peeled tomatoes by hand or with a potato masher and add them to the saucepan.
- Add dried oregano and salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
- Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- If desired, stir in chopped fresh basil leaves.
- Serve hot over your favorite pasta dish.
