Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the water, oil, and egg, and mix until a smooth dough forms. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it is elastic, then cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic, and cook until the vegetables are soft.
  • Add the paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the skillet, and mix well. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a cup.
  • Place a spoonful of the beef filling on one half of each dough circle. Add a few chopped olives and a piece of boiled egg on top.
  • Fold the other half of the dough circle over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  • Place the empanadas on a greased baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
