  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Add the whole milk, beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Stir until well combined and a smooth dough forms.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/2 inch thickness.
  • Use a donut cutter or a biscuit cutter and a shot glass to cut out 12 donuts. Place the donuts on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Heat 2 inches of oil in a Dutch oven or large pot to 375°F. Use a cooking thermometer to monitor the temperature.
  • Working in batches, carefully lower the donuts into the hot oil using a slotted spoon. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from the oil and let drain on paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Once the donuts have cooled slightly, dip each one in the glaze, making sure to coat it evenly. Let the glaze set for a few minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy!
