Ingredients
For The Donuts:
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Milk Whole
- 1 Egg Large, Beaten
- 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Melted And Cooled
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Sunflower Oil For Frying
For The Glaze:
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2-3 tbsp Milk Whole
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the whole milk, beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Stir until well combined and a smooth dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/2 inch thickness.
- Use a donut cutter or a biscuit cutter and a shot glass to cut out 12 donuts. Place the donuts on the prepared baking sheet.
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a Dutch oven or large pot to 375°F. Use a cooking thermometer to monitor the temperature.
- Working in batches, carefully lower the donuts into the hot oil using a slotted spoon. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from the oil and let drain on paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once the donuts have cooled slightly, dip each one in the glaze, making sure to coat it evenly. Let the glaze set for a few minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
