- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup White Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 Onion Small, Finely Chopped
- 2 Garlic Cloves Minced
- 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (Adjust To Taste)
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the diced mangoes, granulated sugar, white vinegar, water, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt.
- Stir the ingredients together over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the chutney simmer for about 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mangoes become soft and the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature.
