Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking up any clumps with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the onion, garlic, and carrots to the skillet, and cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the frozen peas, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • While the meat mixture is simmering, prepare your mashed potatoes. You can use leftover mashed potatoes or make them from scratch.
  • Once the meat mixture is ready, transfer it to a baking dish.
  • Spoon the mashed potatoes over the top of the meat mixture, using a potato masher to create a slightly rough surface.
  • Cut the butter into small pieces and scatter them over the top of the mashed potatoes.
  • Bake the Shepherd's Pie for 25-30 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
