For The Cake:
- 1 3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 2 Eggs Large
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Hot Water
For The Frosting:
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter At Room Temperature
- 3 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Milk
Instructions
For the cake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Grease two 8-inch round cake pans with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until well combined.
- Add the hot water to the mixing bowl and stir until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pans and smooth out the top with a rubber spatula.
- Bake the cakes for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

For the frosting:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
