- 1/2 cup Green Bell Pepper Chopped
- 2 Garlic Cloves Minced
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 4 Hamburger Buns Split
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Use a wooden spoon to break up any large chunks of meat as it cooks.
- Add the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- While the sauce is simmering, toast the hamburger buns under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned.
- To assemble the Sloppy Joes, place a scoop of the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
