For the Wontons:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together ground pork, chopped shrimp, soy sauce, rice wine or sherry, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and chopped green onion to make the wonton filling.
  • Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, and fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle.
  • Pinch the edges to seal.

For the Soup:

  • In a large pot, bring chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Add the wontons to the pot and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  • Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onion.
