- 1/4 cup Yellow Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 cup Brown Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 cup White Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Honey Or
- Maple Syrup
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Optional, For A Vibrant Yellow Color
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the yellow and brown mustard seeds, white vinegar, water, honey or maple syrup, salt, and optional turmeric.
- Over low heat, bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the mustard seeds soften and the mixture thickens slightly.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mustard mixture cool to room temperature.
- Transfer the mixture to a food processor or use an immersion blender to blend until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a grainier texture, you can leave it partially blended.
- Transfer the homemade Mustard to sterilized jars for storage, and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
